" Forgiveness "

Being forgiving is giving someone another chance after they have done something wrong, knowing that everyone makes mistakes.
It is making amends instead of taking revenge.
Forgiveness is moving ahead, ready to act differently, with compassion for yourself and faith that you can change.

We practise forgiveness when we:
remember that everyone makes mistakes
take responsibility for our own mistakes
share your feelings without taking revenge

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent, which are the 40 days leading up to Easter. During Lent, people are encouraged 'turn back to God'. He calls us to be new creations, to let go of our old selves and put on the new. Lent gives us the spiritual opportunity to change. Over this time of Lent we are encouraged to give something up or take something on in the belief that in doing so it will bring us closer to God. We are going to church this Wednesday at 10am to receive ashes on our foreheads. This is a visual symbol that we want to try and be better.

Black & Red Mufti Day
A total of $336.60 was raised to send to Christchurch. Thank you all so much for your generosity.

If you care about our young families, know what it is to be a prent, and wish to offer your love and understanding to parents, come and be part of a training programme to make this happen. There will be an introductory evening 8th March 7.30p.m. at the Diocesan Centre to which anyone interested is welcome to come to assess the ministry before making any commitment. Training dates for the year are 2nd April, 7th May and 11th June. Further information from Debbie Jameson 3541780 ext 824 or diamenson@pndiocese.org.nz
