Dear Parents / Caregivers
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou

Sadly we say farewell to our summer but let’s hope we have a few more warm days in store.
This week the juniors are looking forward to the Catholic tabloids at St James and Voyagers are off to Access Radio to record their show.

Enjoy your week,      Jacinta Cousins ,   Principal

" Service "

Service is giving to others and wanting to make a difference in their lives.
Helping other people is one of the very best ways to serve God.
Having an attitude of service means looking for ways to be of help rather than waiting to be asked.
The needs of others are as important to you as your own. .

We practise service when we:
look for opportunities to be of service to others
think of thoughtful things to do for help our family and friends
don’t wait to be asked when something needs doing
do our part to care for the earth: recycle, reduce, re-use

This weeks recipients are:

I am the Living Water.
Both of our readings focus on water as a sign of salvation. As Jesus talks to the woman at the well he says, "Anyone who drinks the water from this well will be thirsty again. But anyone who drinks the water I give, will never be thirsty again. The water I give will be like a spring flowing water inside of them. And this water will give them eternal life. The gift of water is a call to faith. Jesus' promise of
living water stirs initial faith, and he responds in self-revelation in the scripture - "I am the Messiah."
Loving Father, may you continue to show us the way and cleanse our spirits with your love.

Colgate Carton Race
Our school is competing to win a share of $60,000 worth of new sports gear.
It’s part of a campaign called the Awesome Colgate Carton race and the winning schools simply have to collect the most Colgate toothpaste cartons per pupil.
So we’re asking everyone to raid their bathrooms and check their recycling bins, ask your friends, family, even neighbours.
Every carton counts, so please do whatever you can to help us win!
Start bringing them in now. We will have a big carton in Room 1 to put them into.
The competition closes June 30, 2011.
