Dear
Parents / Caregivers
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
Many
thanks to those of you who braved the wintry weather last
Thursday evening to come to our Inquiry Expo and celebrate
with your child their fantastic work and learning. It
was great to see the wonderful turnout.
As school finishes for the term this Friday, I take this
opportunity to wish you all a safe and enjoyable holiday
break. I will be on sabbatical next term so will catch
up with you all in term 4.
Enjoy
your week, Jacinta Cousins,
Principal

Caring - Manaaki "
Caring
is giving love and attention to people and
things that matter to you.
When you care
about people, you help them.
When you do a careful
job, you give it your very best effort.
You treat people and things gently and respectfully.
You
are practicing caring
when you: treat
others, yourself and the earth with care handle
things carefully are
gentle and loving

In
the weekend's readings Jesus compares the kingdom
to a mustard seed and yeast. Both result in a
surprise, and that's the point of the
parables. The kingdom, here and now, may seem
small and hardly
noticeable - but like the mustard seed and the
yeast, it is more than
it seems. We don't always see the the results
of our small sometimes hidden efforts. Todays’
parables encourage us to see beyond the present
and to know that what can and will be is already
here in small, hidden ways. The reign of God is
already among us!

Ringing lists and letter-box drops are being distributed
today and tomorrow. If you have offered help please check
with your child. The response from you our parents,to
one of our major fundraising activities, has to say the
least, been appalling.
So far we have had 6 volunteers for the phoning list (we
need 15), 12 for the letter-box drop (the more volunteers
the wider the cover), and wait for it - 8 people (including
staff) for the delivery on Saturday 13th August and to
this end we need at least 30 people.
You will need to ring in your offer of help for the ringing
lists tomorrow, as this needs to be done by the end of
the school holidays. We need your commitment for the 13th
August also. Phone the school office 3589727. Yes we are
all busy people but lets face it the money we get from
the Government does not cover all the EXTRAS that your
children enjoy. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE IT TO THAT “OTHER”
PERSON. !
