Dear Parents / Caregivers

What a week to remember last week was. Our mass at the Arena to celebrate Catholic Schools Day was a wonderful occasion with all the schools in our region coming together to celebrate the uniqueness of Catholic Education.
Our school cross country was great fun too. Thank you parents/caregivers for coming along to cheer on your children.

Justice is giving people what they deserve, mercy is giving people more that they deserve.
Mercy is a quality of heart.
When you are being merciful, you are willing to forgive when you have been hurt.
God is very merciful to us by giving us lots of blessings and lots of chances to keep learning from our mistakes.

We practise Mercy when we:
give people another chance when they make a mistake
overlook hurtful things people do
put ourselves in others shoes
let our hearts be touched by people who are troubled and do something to help.

Leading Lights is really about using your virtues and being the best you can be.

Sausage Sizzle
This Friday we are having a sausage sizzle.
$1 for a sausage wrapped in bread. .

Inquiry Expo
On Friday afternoon on June 11 we are inviting parents/caregivers to each class to find out all about the exciting work children have been doing for their ‘World of Wonderful Words” inquiry. This is a great opportunity for you to share in your child’s learning. We hope you can make the time to come along as a lot of work has gone into preparing the children for this event.

Preschool Facility
Please note that the access way beside the Parish House has now been closed off. Children will now have to be dropped off on the corner of Shamrock Street. No access is available during the construction of the preschool facility.

Winter Tournament
Year 5 and 6 children are invited to participate in the Manawatu Contributing Schools Winter Tournament on TUESDAY 29th June.
Are you able to help with transport and/or coaching for
soccer, hockey , netball and touch.

Blokes Event
Blokes and boys to meet at the Lido 5.30p.m. on Friday 11 June. Full details on the flyer sent home last week.

Tackle Rugby
Mr Meyer and Mr Davidson have kindly volunteered to referee a game of tackle rugby for interested children on Tuesday lunchtime for the juniors and Thursday lunchtime for the seniors.
Children must have a change of clothes to be able to participate.

Kapa Haka
Come and join Senior Kapa Haka at St James school on Friday 18th June at 7p.m.

Pacific Educators - Study Support Programme:
Commenced Monday 17th May.
The programme will operate Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 3.30p.m. - 5.30p.m. at 39 Havelock Avenue - Church Hall/10 Waihi Place.
OSCAR (Out of School Care and Recreation) programme is anticipated to start on 14th June.
This Study Support programme will be amalgamated into this programme to extend our days to a full week.
