Dear Parents / Caregivers
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou

A lot has been happening here at school of late.
Teachers are busy doing assessments and writing reports in readiness for the mid year conferences on June 29/30.
This Thursday our senior kapahaka group is performing at Hato Paora. We have decided to take a bus to this. Please look out for the separate notice coming home about this. We hope to have as many of our senior students there as possible.

Trinity Sunday
The focus of our readings is the experience of God acting in our lives in various ways. We have no adequate language for God, because God is
beyond any single image we may have. We experience God in Jesus Christ who shares with us his experience of God - as creator, as redeemer, and as a person of intimate relationship. Our experience of this
relationship is the Spirit of God living in us.
Trinity God you are a mystery that we will celebrate and proclaim forever and ever!

Kapa Haka Whanaungatanga
This Thursday we are joining the other catholic schools in our region at Hato Paora College just out of Fielding for a celebration of kapa haka. We have decided to take a bus for those children and their families involved. Please meet us here at school no later that 4.50pm. as we need to be out there and dressed ready for the 6pm start.

Mid Year 3 Way Conferences (Parent/Teacher/Student)

These are being held on June 29 and 30 in your child’s classroom. Please note children will finish school at 1.20pm on the first day June 29. Mid year written reports will be coming home prior to conferences. Appointment times will come home next week.

Scholastic Book Club
Orders close at 9am on 22nd June, 2011. Last term someone ordered 3 books but did not put their name on the order form. By the titles it would appear to be a boys choice. Is this you?? See Kath in office.

The Hive, United and Voyagers (Rms 6,7,8) invite parents, families and friends to join them at their senior syndicate mass on Thursday June 23 at 10am. Our theme for the mass is faithfulness and we would love you come and sit with us.

Uniforms
Please make sure that the correct name & clearly written is on your child’s clothing. I have 2 jerseys in the school office with names that cannot be read.

Parish/School Mass
Our parish school mass for this term will be held on Sunday, July 3 at 10am. As it is expected that all students and their families attend this mass please book this date into your diaries now.

Colgate Carton Race
Keep those cartons rolling in!! So far we have collected 214.
The competition closes at the end of this month, June 30. .

Preschool Playgroup
We invite all our mums with preschoolers to come along to a play group held every Tuesday morning at 9am. This is a great way to meet up with prospective parents as well as current members of our school community. It is held in the foyer area of the church.

Congratulations to those hardy Year 5 & 6 students who braved the inclement weather conditions and represented our school at the inter-school cross country last week. Special mention goes to the year 5 girls team who were our best performers on the day:
Niamh gained 7th place, Rebekah 23rd and Shakyra 24th.Well done girls!
Fun Night Out to look forward to for our school community - “It’s In The Bag” July 9 at 7pm
$10 per person. Held here in our school hall.

Fertiliser Drive
Planning is underway for one of our schools major fundraisers for the year. This will be held on Saturday morning August 13. We will need cars and trailers, man and woman power, people to ring for orders and people to deliver pamphlets. Please be ready to put your names forward when asked or let us know before we do ask.
