Dear Parents / Caregivers
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou

Winter has finally struck! One good thing is that it will hopefully kill off the bugs that have been lurking!
Next term I will be on sabbatical. Part of my time will be spent visiting other schools to find out how they sustain good practice. Ms Hayes will be acting Principal for the first five weeks of the term and Mrs O’Connor the last five weeks. They will be supported by the rest of the staff, the Board and I am sure the whole school community.

Enjoy your week,      Jacinta Cousins, Principal

" Excellence - Tino Pai Rawa"

Excellence is giving your best to any task you do or any relationship you have.
No matter what you are doing, excellence means you are giving it the best that you have to give.
Excellence is effort guided by a noble purpose.
It is a desire for perfection.
The perfection of a seed is the fruit which grows from it.
Excellence in your life is bringing your fruits to fruition..

The second reading reminds us that the Spirit of God dwells in us. Because of this, we need to always remember how special we are! The Gospel invites us to be more like children because they often look at the world differently. After Jesus had been teaching his disciples, he
prayed, "I thank you, God of heaven and earth. I thank you because you show your ways to people who are like little children. They understand your ways better than people who think they are clever and wise." May we too humble ourselves and learn from You Teacher God.
