Dear
Parents / Caregivers
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
This
week it is Maori Language Week. The theme is “Te
Mahi Kai”- the language of food- so it fits in beautifully
with our current Inquiry unit.
Yesterday Bishop Peter visited our school. He thoroughly
enjoyed his visit spending time in every class. He talked
to the children about Jesus as their friend and they were
given the opportunity to ask him questions.
Enjoy
your week, Jacinta Cousins
, Principal
"
Self-Discipline "
Self-Discipline
means self control.
It is getting yourself to do what you really
want to do.
You don’t lose control of yourself when
you feel hurt or angry, but decide how you
are going to talk and what you are going to
do.
With self-discipline,
you take charge of yourself.
We
practise self-discipline
when we: use
detachment so our emotions won’t control
us. speak
and act calmly when you are hurt or angry get
things done in an orderly, efficient way do
what is expected without people having to
watch over us do
things on time

Parish/
School Mass
Set aside 10am Sunday, August 8, as we are celebrating
our Term 3 parish school/mass on this date.
It promises to be a special occasion. Staff and
students from St Peters College are leading the
music and the mass will be followed by a pancake
breakfast in the hall organised by the Passionist
Family Groups. All they ask is a gold coin donation.
We expect all our students to be at this mass. They
are to come in their school uniform and sit with
their class.

Wednesday
Food Warmer Day
Starting from next Wednesday our food warmer will
be available for students, each Wednesday for the
rest of the term, who want to have a hot food option
for their lunch. Food must be wrapped in something
suitable for a pie warmer (no plastic or cling wrap
as these melt!!!) and it needs to be clearly labelled
with name and room number. Children are to put their
item into their container in their classroom prior
to the commencement of the day. Their food will
be delivered back to the room at the start of lunch.
